an album written and recorded by dreamgoth in 2019 in the comfort of the old Shared Frequencies studio on east 5th street. i’ve sat on this music for so long - attempting to rerecord the songs to ‘improve’ their quality, but i found myself over and over unable to truly recreate the humble energy and warmth of the original recordings.
the album is straight forward, quick, and fueled by anxiety. all influenced by the constant self-doubt social media has inflamed in me as its presence became overwhelming.
it is nerve-racking putting out music from years ago, it feels vulnerable to share songs from a different time. a window into a younger, ‘less honed’ version of myself.
but it is a reminder of constant growth, the beauty of creating over time, and appreciating where you’ve been to get to where you are.
i love these songs with all my heart, and it feels so good to finally let them go.
